Tennis Staff
Mark Happel – Head Professional, USPTA
Mark is currently the Head Varsity Girls and Boys Tennis Coach at Verona Area High School and a Physical Education Teacher in the VASD. He was recently named Coach of the Year by the Wisconsin High School Tennis Coaches Association and was previously a tennis instructor at Valley View Fitness & Racquet Club in La Crosse, WI. Mark played collegiately at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse, where he was a national qualifier in both singles and doubles. He is certified through the Professional Tennis Registry and is looking forward to another successful year at Seminole.
Julia Huseth – Assistant Professional
Julia has been coaching tennis at Seminole for the past four years and is very excited to return this summer as our Assistant Pro. She was a 3-time state qualifier in doubles at Verona Area High School and is currently studying Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire. After graduation, she plans to pursue a Masters in Speech Therapy. She adores playing tennis and teaching it to kids of all ages, and she cannot wait to see everyone again this summer.
Josh Bradley – Tennis Professional
Josh played Varsity Tennis at Verona Area High School, where he won the La Crosse Invitational and qualified for the state tournament in 2023. This is his fourth year teaching tennis at Seminole.
Michael Happel – Tennis Professional
Michael played four years of tennis at Verona Area High School. He has a degree in Political Science from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater, where he was also the President of Club Tennis. He currently works in the State Legislature and has been teaching tennis at Seminole for the past three years.
Annie Nick – Tennis Professional
Annie graduated from Verona Area High School in 2024 as a 4-year letter winner and 4-time state qualifier on the Girls Tennis Team. She currently attends the University of Arizona and is excited to return to Seminole for her third year teaching tennis.
Riley Sass – Tennis/Pickleball Professional
Riley graduated from Verona High School in 2023 as a 2-time state qualifier on the Boys Tennis Team at #1 doubles. He is currently in his sophomore year at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Riley has been playing pickleball for the past five years and is looking forward to making his debut at Seminole.
