New this year!
– New management: We are excited to introduce you to Stephen Swanson Petro, if you have not met him already. Stephen started with Seminole last season as a swim team and masters swim coach. Stephen has over 15 years of experience with all things related to pool management and safety certification, as well as a degree in education. He will provide training, organized accountability, and an environment where everyone can do good work and have fun while we’re at it.

Pool Manager: The Pool Manager to oversee daily operations at our Seminole Pool. In this role, you’ll lead a team of lifeguards, ensure safety protocols are followed, manage scheduling, and provide an exceptional experience for all members and visitors.
Assistant Manager – Lessons Coordinator: The Assistant Manager – Lessons oversees our swim and dive lessons programming, including developing lesson curriculum, training lesson instructors, scheduling instructors for lessons, and supervising lessons during all 4 sessions. They will also assist the Pool Manager with other duties, including those listed above.
Head Lifeguard: The Head Guards will assume the role of the senior staff on duty when a manager is not present AND oversee additional responsibilities as assigned by the pool manager. Applicants should hold current certifications in Lifeguarding, CPR, and First Aid, or be able to have these current by opening weekend. All Head Lifeguards must be at least 18 years of age prior to May 22, 2026.
Lifeguards: Applicants should hold current certifications in Lifeguarding, CPR, and First Aid, or be able to have these current by opening weekend. Wisconsin State Law now allows 15 year olds to be lifeguards upon completion of the Red Cross Lifeguarding Course.
Instructors: This position teaches swimming or diving lessons. It can be combined with one of our other positions as well. Applicants should hold current certifications in Lifeguarding, CPR, and First Aid, or be able to have these current by opening weekend. Instructor pay is higher than standard guard pay.
Attendants: This position will be responsible for front desk and concessions duties. The position requires that applicants have completed 8th grade by the end of the current school year and will be entering as a High School Freshman in the fall.
Tennis Instructors: This position teaches tennis lessons. It can be combined with one of our other positions as well.

Beginning in 2025, there is an Employee Membership option available as a benefit to staff members who meet the following requirements:
Minimum Hours: Employees must work an average of 15 hours per week.
Good Standing: Employees must remain in good standing throughout the season, including August.
Eligible Positions: Lifeguards, Head Guards, Managers, Tennis Instructors, and Swim/Dive Lesson Instructors.
Benefits: A free single-year membership and eligibility to join the Seminole Swim/Dive Team.
Failure to meet these requirements may result in suspension from swim/dive meets and recreational access to the pool.

Once you are hired, we’ll need from you:
- Supplied Tax Forms – Check your email – often! All hired employees will receive an email with required paperwork that must be filled out and returned to us prior to the start of the season.
- Background Check – Employees must complete successfully before they are allowed to work a scheduled shift. We will communicate with you how to complete this.
- Work Permit – If you have not been employed by Seminole in the past and are under 16, you must bring a completed Work Permit to the pool before you may work a shift. The Work Permit is issued by your school or district office. Processing time is usually a week, so plan ahead. We will refund the $10 processing fee to you. Please see the State of Wisconsin website for information on how to obtain a Work Permit. Contact Nikki Nicholson, Personnel Chair, at personnel@seminolepool.org to obtain the required letter from Seminole Pool & Tennis.
