Introducing Seminole 2.1!
Oct. 15, 2025
Dear Seminole Members,
It may be fall, but we’re always thinking about summer at Seminole Pool! Since we packed up the lounge chairs and emptied the pool, we’ve been hard at work. And now we’re excited to introduce Seminole 2.1—an evolution of the original Seminole 2.0 plan that better balances needs, costs, and community priorities.
This updated version of the project is thoughtfully scaled to deliver maximum impact while managing costs. While the original plan carried a hefty price tag of $6.7 million, Seminole 2.1 will cost approximately $4 million—a more efficient design that still gives us everything we need to grow and thrive.
Even more exciting is that if we reach our fundraising goal by the end of this calendar year, we’ll break ground in September 2026 and have a brand-new pool ready for backstrokes and belly flops in May 2027! That means this upcoming season could be our last summer swimming in the current pool, and the following season could be in our brand-new Seminole 2.1 pool!
What’s included in Seminole 2.1?
- A new 8-lane pool with a separate shallow area
- Long, wide steps for better access and a safer learning space for young swimmers
- A diving well that does not interfere with lap lanes
- Additional shade structures for comfort on deck
- An upgraded bath house with individual showers and an expanded snack bar
- Family bathrooms accessible from the pool deck and a private lactation room
- Improved layout and storage including indoor storage space for pool programming
